Learning from Jonathan Harris @ PSFK
Jonathan Harris developed We feel fine, a method of feeling the the consciousness of the web. In this talk he articulates his current feelings: that the kind of compressed, trivialized and discordant nature of an internet life is already producing its counter culture: a web of meaning within which we can go deep into the stuff that makes us feel human. I met Jonathan at Caldera and then at EG and have always found him to be brilliantly sensitive. He is an artist with an artists perceptiveness of his world. His observations are acute and well made. If we are to proceed in the digitization of our lives in an intertwined and complex world (See Peter Schwartz) then it is inevitable that the real human stories will emerge above the trivial and superficial. Cowbird may just be the start.
